Classroom Management Strategies and other Teacher Worthy Ideas
It seems that every time I feature a post about Autism I have a lot of “hits.” So, here is another post that I saw just yesterday from anonymouslyautistic.net.
In this post, she features another Autistic person’s explanation of their large amount of characteristics and feelings. For instance, driving a car is totally out of reason because of inability to filter out all the variables that need to be quickly analyzed. Flashing lights just send their brains into total panic! Large crowds of people insight fear and vulnerability.
We simply must understand God’s design of people with Autism to help them adapt and be successful in our world.
I have known some children at both ends of the Spectrum – one who simply only calmed down when he was swinging in circles in a special swing and one who is helped with a special dog. I’ve taught several children at the Upper End of this Spectrum who are quite successful.
Here’s the link to this wonderfully, insightful guest post featured on anonymouslyautistic.net. Pay special attention to the color wheel and the explanation that this “Spectrum” isn’t linear at all! She believes it can be more like a color wheel.
