How to get Parents to Show Up at Conferences

I know that your school year has just begun.  And I also know that many of you are already thinking about your first of many Parent Conferences that you’ll have in the not too soon future.  Here’s a wonderful article by Leah Davies, kellybear.com, that I shared a couple of years ago that is still relevant to today.  I seemed to have had great success getting parents to these Conferences in my school during my last 10 years of teaching in particular.  Why?  Because I had already become their “teammate” in getting their child to succeed.  I guess my “mother instinct” worked on the parents, too.

Was I totally successful?  I think I had only one parent during these last years that I had to go visit at their home to get some forms signed.  That’s pretty good, right?

So, please use this link to find out some wonderful ideas for you and your school.
