Moving Around Decreases Behavior Problems?

If you have ever taught elementary age children, you know that they need to get up and move around frequently!  Now to confirm that, Iowa Public Radio interviewed many teachers, professors, and others to confirm what we already knew.  Children need to get up and move.  One of the changes in behavior that I noticed after I began making time for stretching or running around outside, is that my highly active students became less disruptive during the later class instruction time.  They usually said “thank you” to me as I let them jump around for even just 30 seconds!

P.E. instruction twice a week just isn’t enough!
