Classroom Management Strategies and other Teacher Worthy Ideas
I just found this wonderful article by Susan R. Johnson MD, FAAP, a Behavioral and Developmental Pediatrician.
In the article, she presents such ideas as simple skipping as an indicator of mature, bilateral brain development in 2nd-6th graders. She suggests that right brain development affects spelling capabilities and that Kindergarten is too early for writing, reading, or spelling instruction because both sides of a brain are not developed yet. That topic of Kindergarten being too early defies what is being taught in schools these days in our country. Here’s her website:
