Classroom Management Strategies and other Teacher Worthy Ideas

Sibling Bullying

In a recent survey published in the Journal of Pediatrics, 32% of 3,599 children experienced sibling bullying during the past year.  This survey was republished in a Community Bulletin from Polk County Schools in Florida.

Two years ago, I asked my class of 3rd graders how many had been bullied? Most had been bullied at least once.  Also, based upon their comments,  I believe that 32% of sibling bullying was confirmed.  How sad!  Why parents allow this in their homesImage is beyond me?  We in schools must control this bullying where we can.  But how can we teach our student’s parents to stop this bullying at home?  Once again, Have Time to Teach strategies can be used in a home in addition to a school.  Comments?
